Attorney James Kelly Francis is a Founding Partner of the law firm Kirwin & Francis, LLP. He focuses his practice on personal injury, employment law, business disputes, and other civil litigation matters. He is originally from Texas, and moved to Southern California over 30 years ago.
Mr. Francis graduated with honors from Texas A&M University, receiving a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. He then worked in the healthcare and financial services industries before attending law school. He earned his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, Texas. Mr. Francis was admitted to practice law in California in 1993, as well as in Texas in 1994.
Mr. Francis began his legal career at a boutique law firm in Santa Barbara, California, which specialized in civil litigation. His diverse practice included areas such as personal injury, employment law, products liability, landlord-tenant, business disputes, fraud cases, and construction defect . Mr. Francis then opened his own law firm in Ventura, California, to focus his skills on personal injury, employment, and business law matters. He has litigated cases in both state and federal Courts, handled several appeals in both California appellate courts and the federal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal, and tried numerous wage and hour matters before the California Labor Commissioner.
In 2016, Mr. Francis joined forces with Mark Kirwin to create Kirwin & Francis, LLP, to serve the legal needs of their community. In particular, Mr. Francis assists numerous individuals, professionals, and small businesses in various suits, ranging from personal injury cases, employment disputes, wrongful termination and discrimination claims, breaches of contract, as well as other general civil litigation matters. He provides his clients with aggressive, results-driven legal representation and a commitment to excellence in his practice.
